We would like to apologize for the delay in information that we recently had. Peers AP is currently undertaking many different tasks and projects. We were going to release our information a little at a time, but we are changing philosophies and we are going to be doing some heavy updating to this blog and our website. For those of you who don’t know Peers AP is a support group located in Raleigh, North Carolina. We are a group of peers who support and strengthen each other resist the temptation of porn while trying to find ways to regulate how porn is distributed. Basically we are trying to make it more difficult to have access to porn.
On August 27, 2007 we decided that we should take our group online to offer a free alternative to people who are seeking help with their habit. This last month we have been working quite literally around the clock to get the site up and running. We have discussed how our support group will be operated, and we are incorporating different ideas to the program. Unfortunately for Peers AP we accidentally erased the database that holds all of our web content so we have to start reprograming and writing all that information again. So there might be a delay. As of right now we are going to say that there is no delay, but we might announce one at a later date.
We also got a request in to include people who are trying to overcome bi sexuality. So Peers AP has formed a partnership with a support forum for bi sexuality. I can’t say anything else about this so you will have to stay tuned for an update.
Also a couple of people of members from Peers AP is helping with the formation of a new journalism company called Nintendo Fan Alliance. Since we encourage our members to go out and learn things or do things, this is an important step in the growth of Peers AP. Video games can be a great alternative to watching porn.
Once last announcement of Peers AP is that we are trying to register as a nonprofit organization. With some of the things that we are trying to do, we are going to have to raise money. We will be doing the obvious like putting ads on our webpages, but there will be some other things like selling t-shirts and stuff that will also go into raising money for us. This is a big project for us and so far is has been funded those in Peers AP, so we are hoping that some of the costs to us will come down with some creative imagination.
Finally, I just wanted to point out that we get a lot of request from parents to help them with talking to their kids. Talking to your kids about pornography is important, especially since the average starting age for viewing pornography is 11. With everything that is going on in a young child’s like, curiosity for the opposite sex is bound to happen, so if you have children, please make sure you talk to them. Peers AP is going to put up an online arcade to hopefully allure more teenagers into our site. Even though video games are better than wasting a day looking at porn, it shouldn’t be replacing family activities. The more you do with your children, the less likely they are to be involved in porn.
