Theses are exciting times for us at Peers AP, and here is why!! Beating porn by yourself is one of the most challenging things that one can enter. There are tons of people who are constantly trying, but in the end they give up or they allow themselves to sink into depression. Is is possible to beat pornography by yourself? I would like to believe that nothing is impossible, but I always ask people why do something on your own when you can get help. Have you ever noticed how easy things become when you have someone there helping you along the way. Could you imagine trying to learn math or riding a bike by yourself. While it can be done, it is important to note that it is going to take so much longer.
Have you ever been in a situation where you are watching a porno, then after it is done (or you are done, which ever comes first) you are like, okay now I am ready to quit and I am never doing that again. A few hours go by and you find yourself alone with the internet. What happens next? Usually you will find yourself back in-front of the screen.
Why is it that whenever you make a commitment to stop viewing porn, that you are right back on it. Once again you need to look at yourself and try to think of all the reasons that you are not reaching your goal. Internet porn has had so much success because there is privacy and nobody knows that you are doing it. Well, Peers AP is going to use those the privacy and your identity being a secret as tools to motivate you to change your life. While we don’t believe in secrecy, we do believe that if you don’t have the courage to tell somebody then that shouldn’t stop you from seeking help. We found at Peers AP that once people have overcome their porn addictions, they have an easier time talking about it.
Now, we have posted some details about our online community. If you want to be a mechanic then the fastest way to be a mechanic is to hang around mechanics. If you want to know how to buy stocks or sell real estate you need to hang out with those types of people. This is what makes Peers AP different from all those other sites and organizations. We have been where you are now and we have overcome it. If you want to beat a porn addiction, you need to be around those who have already beaten it. This is going to accelerate your progress to where beating porn for those first few weeks will become easier and more completable. However, we also know that it doesn’t just stop like a majority of people. Actually statistics show that the older you get the harder it is to get off. You start of viewing pornography when you were in your teens and maybe you tried to stop. Five years later you find that you are now in college and you are still fighting porn, only now in college porn is the “cool” thing to do. Another five years and you are married with kids and that porn habit of yours is still there, only now you wake up in the middle of the night when your wife or spouse is sleeping. The whole time you thought that you would quit sometime in the future.
Like I said, this is an exciting time for us a Peers AP. We are forming a few new partnerships that will benefit our members, which will be left unsaid at this time (okay it is a dating site and video game site. No names yet.). We are working on our online community which is going to be so much more than just a forum or a place where you can put up some pictures. This community will be very interactive and hopefully it will keep you busy and motivate you to stay away from porn. We are not going to be satisfied until you reach a goal of one year with no porn, so mark your calandars because we will be going public January 1, 2008. A new year, new goals, and new motivation.
Another thing that we are now working hard at, is to become a legal non-profit organization with (c)5 tax benefits. This will be important at our growth continues in the following days. We also have connections now in the political field. Hopefully we will be able to use these connections to try and get some changes to our laws.
Finially, we would thank everyone for their emails of support and *err well criticism. This project’s future will depend greatly upon the members. This is a free service and the people that are working hard to bring you this service are all volunteers. The money needed to make this project happen has come from our own pockets, so when you send us emails of support or even questions, it makes us feel like we are doing the right thing.
Please keep a close eye on this blog for more information as events happen.
